Moreau Antique Sculpture Le Chant du Printemps

    Signed by famed French sculptor, August Moreau, "Le Chant du Printemps" (The Song of Spring) depicts a maiden in a naturalistic setting. She flows beautifully in midstep, and at her side is a bird.

This work of art dates from the Art Nouveau period about 1900, and is signed in the cast metal base with a signature, and also on a brass plate on the wooden base.

There is some wear to the original patinated finish, see photos, and there is a tiny crack on the knuckle of her forefinger. We see no other damage or repair to this lovely antique statue, height is 20." E-S1821
