A nostalgic antique from about 1895, this Victorian pie safe has pierced tin side panels, and doors with "pressed" carving, similar to "pressback" chairs of the period. This held fresh bakery "safe" from bees and flies, ventilated by the tin sides.
Made of poplar, maple and ash hardwoods, the finish is very good in a medium brown, with wear, stains and "character" from over a century of use. Note a warp to the bottom of the right door. This country furniture measures 38 1/2" wide, 18" deep and 54" tall. W-P1134
